ERC Consolidator Grant for the development of imperceptible photonic information technology

cfaed Associated Member Prof. Sebastian Reineke from TU Dresden has been awarded a Consolidator Grant from the European Research Council (ERC) in the amount of 2 million Euro for his research project SLOWTONICS. In this project he wants to initiate a paradigm shift in modern technology by developing and using biocompatible components. Project launch is January 2024.

What is life? How does a complex organism develop from a tiny egg cell? And how can salamanders even regrow lost limbs? A new hands-on exhibition of the Cluster of Excellence 'Physics of Life' asks these and other questions and shows how researchers from biology, physics and computer sciences are working together to answer these questions. The rector of TU Dresden, Prof. Dr. Ursula M. Staudinger opened the exhibition on 5 May, 2023.
